Means of Communications

The ways, by which we pass on messages, information or express our ideas or feelings to other, are called means of communications. For this purpose we make signs, speak or write our thinking.

Early man made signs for their communication. with the passage of time man learnt how to speak, read or write. All these ways are now used to communicate with others.

Postal services, telegram, telephone, radio and press are the important means of communications now-a-days.

TELEGRAM:

When you have to send an urgent message, you can use telegram. Its is very easy way of communication. you will have to visit to give the following information.

1: Names and address of the person whom you want to send the message.

2: Name and address of the sender in less words.

After this the telegraph officer will send your message through telegraph wires in shortest possible time. You have to pay some fee to the office for sending messages.

POSTAL SERVICES:

By this services, we can send letters, parcels from one place to another. There are many post offices for this purpose, Which are established by Government. Each area has its own postal office.

TELEX, FAX AND E-MAIL:

You can send messages every where in the world by telex. In this system a machine, which is called teleprinter is used for typing and sending messages by telegraph.

Fax is another way of communication. By a fax machine, a copy of letter or message is sent by an electronic system, using telephone lines.

E-mails are sent by means of computers linked to a telecommunication network. It is very easy and very popular now-a-days.

TELEPHONE:

A telephone is a very simple method to communicate with others directly. By dialing a special number we can contact to the person, we want to talk. These are in all other places.

RADIO AND TELEVISION:

These are very important and useful means of communication. On it, we can listen and see local and foreign news, games, talk shows, music, programs etc. These programs are broadcasted in all languages.

The first television station in pakistan was established in 1964 at Lahore. Through artificial satellites and cable networks we can see television program all over the world.

PRESS:

Newspapers and other things like this play a very important role in communication. Newspaper are published in every languages throughout the world. These are also a easy way of communication on a large scale.
