Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture
Pakistan is located in the Northern Hemisphere. It has Five Provinces Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Khyber pakhtunkhwa formerly called North-West frontier province, is one of the five provinces of pakistan. It borders federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) to the west and south, Gilgit-Baltistan to the north-east, Azad kashmir to the east, Punjab, Islamabad capital territory to the south-east, and Afghanistan to north-west. The provincial capital and the largest city is peshawar.
Geographically, the province could be divided into two zones, the northern one extending from the ranges of the Hindu kush to the borders of peshawar basin and the southern one extending from peshawar to the Derajat basin. The major rivers that crisscross the province are the Kabul, Swat, Chitral, Kunar, Siran, Panjkora, Bara, Kurram, Dor, Haroo, Gomal, and Zhob. Its snow -capped and lush green valleys of unusual beauty have enormous potential for tourism.
The climate of KPK varies immensely in the region of its size, encompassing many climatic types found in Pakistan. The province stretching southwards from the BAROGHI pASS IN the Hindu Kush, Covers almost six degrees of latitude. It is mainly a mountainous region. Dera Ismail Khan is one of the hottest places of South Asia, while in the mountains to the north, the weather is temperate in the summer and intensely cold i winter.
There are many beutiful national parks in khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Ayubia, Chitral Gol Park, Broghil Valley Sheikh Buddin, Saiful Maluk, Lulusar and Dudipatsar national Parks are very well known.
Most of the inhabitants of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Profess Islam, with a majority of Suuni and significant minorities of Shias, Ismailis and Ahmadis / shamanist religion. There are very small Communities of Hindus and Sikhs.
The popular dress of Khyber Pashtunkhwa is shalwar Kameez, waistcoat and turban, In hilly areas, people also wear coarse clothes. Woman wear dark colour shalwar, Kameez and dopatta.
The important cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Swat, Dir, ChitralAbbottabad, Mansehra, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan Peshawar is a very old city of khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There are many historical places and bazars in Peshawar. These are MasjidMohabbat Khan, Chowk Yadgar, famous Qissa Khawani Bazar , Wazir Bagh, Shahi Bagh, famous Fort Bala Hisar, Jinnah Park etc. This city Peshawar is connected with the rest of the countries as well as with otther neighbouring countries such as Afghanistan and China.
